My Craft Show Experience
The Bayou Country Craft Show in Niceville, Florida is now history and from my perspective it was a success. I signed up at the last minute and as a result, my booth was at the end of a hall and away from the main traffic flow. I shared the room with one other jewelry vendor. I sold enough to pay for my space and then some. I saw a lot of my business cards leave the booth which hopefully will send traffic to my websites. I also gained some experience with how these events work. The potential web traffic and experience are my measures of success. I plan to participate in a few more of these events for the same reasons. Do I want a steady diet of this? Probably not. But I do think that it is a good idea to participate in several events each year to establish and maintain a "real person" presence. If you have a craft show scheduled, I wish you much success!

I will be doing my first Gift Fair in November. I am quite nervous that 1 my stuff won't sell and 2 that I won't have enough stuff! Craziness. Frankly it is not what I want to do. I wan to design not continually make stuff over and over again, but in the mean time....I will keep going.
Zen--I know what you mean about wanting to design new things. Craft shows do take a good amount of time--I've spent the last several hours scouring the Internet for 2010 shows within 100 miles of my home! I have found that process to be a bit frustrating. There are several sites that you can join to get info. I haven't done that yet...!
